This one no longer comes with a base. Instead, it can be hung on a tree or some other interesting place.

Barnes and Noble has a list of the 7 Coolest Fairies in Literature, they are, according to them:

  • Puck (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by William Shakespeare)
  • Tinker Bell (Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie)
  • Nuala (Sandman series, by Neil Gaiman)
  • Morgan le Fay (Le Morte D’Arthur, by Sir Thomas Mallory)
  • Princess Ozma (Oz series, by L. Frank Baum)
  • The Fairy Godmother (Cinderella, by Charles Perrault)
  • Holly Short (Artemis Fowl series, by Eoin Colfer)

We think this little Buttercup Fairy is pretty cool too. She comes from a very old Norwegian Fairy tale. She was transformed and made famous by Cicely Mary Barker’s Flower Fairies in 1923.

’Tis I whom children love the best;
My wealth is all for them;
For them is set each glossy cup
Upon each sturdy stem.
O little playmates whom I love!
The sky is summer-blue,
And meadows full of buttercups
Are spread abroad for you.
